I discussed the necessity of college management software for educational institutions to handle records, manage academic papers of all kinds, and manage reports from students and stakeholders on a specific campus. However, every institution is unique, especially colleges and schools. While some basic and primary functions are shared, assessment and financial operations differ greatly from one another. We will determine today what and how the ERP systems for colleges and schools should differ from one another.
Overview:-
One of the main distinctions between schools and colleges is how they conduct assessments. In college, this idea is expanded upon in three levels that communicate distinct norms and regulations to pass or fail any student.
In school, this notion is limited to the simple pass/fail concept. In the school ERP, each student's status is determined by passing or failing based on their class, but in the college ERP, each student's status is determined by each subject; for example, a student may be classified as passing, have a backlog in a particular subject, or even have ATKT. This distinguishes the college assessment module from the school assessment module.
Attendance:
The systems of attendance in schools and colleges differ significantly. The attendance policy at each school differs for example, some simply accept attendance on time, while others accept it twice, once during the first period and once during the second.
However, attendance is tracked separately for each topic in college, and grades are assigned on an individual basis rather than a cumulative one. Exam attendance is a determinant, and unlike in school, in college, it is recorded separately for each topic for each semester.
Batch:
This difference is common, yet it is significant. In schools, batches are primarily separated annually; however, in colleges, this annual system is simplified to a semester system, with the Even and Odd semester systems being used half the year.
The attendance and assessment part is impacted by this batch both directly and indirectly. While it may not be too much, College ERP and School ERP must be made to work with each institute's unique procedures and features.
Thus, if you're searching for ERP solutions for your educational institution, be careful that they don't mislead you by using the same software. Instead, ask them to address the distinctions between college ERP and school ERP that were mentioned earlier.
